In warmer months it can be tempting to reach for an ice-cream which can often have lots of hidden sugars. Opt for a healthy alternative by stocking your fridge with homemade fruit sorbets for a refreshing fruity snack without hidden sugar. Experiment with seasonal fruits and different flavours or try these three fruity flavours.
Raspberry Sorbet Ingredients:
- 3 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 cup ice
- *Optional 2 tablespoons of honey
Method:
- Blend or process raspberries until smooth. Strain mixture through a fine sieve over a large bowl, using the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard seeds. You will need 500ml (2 cups) liquid.
- Add ice and blend until smooth. Either serve straight away or put in a freezer-safe container
Lemon Sorbet Ingredients:
- A thick strip of lemon peel
- Juice of 2-3 lemons
- 1 cup ice
- *Optional 2 tablespoons of honey
Method:
- Mix lemon peel and juice with lots of ice and blend together until smooth.
- Either serve straight away or put in a freezer-safe container.
Passionfruit Sorbet Ingredients:
- 3 cups passionfruit pulp
- 1 cup ice
- *Optional 2 tablespoons of honey
Method:
- Blend or process passionfruit pulp for 20 seconds or just until seeds separate from the juice. Strain through a fine sieve into a large bowl, pressing down on seeds with the back of a wooden spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard seeds. You will need 500ml (2 cups) liquid.
- Add ice and blend until smooth. Either serve straight away or put in a freezer-safe container.
